Premier League fans are in for a treat on Saturday morning when Manchester City hosts Tottenham Hotspur after each winning their season-openers last weekend. Recent clashes between these two teams have been highly competitive, with Spurs being one of the few teams to have got the better of City in the last few years.

City enters Week 2 of the new campaign as Premier League leader after mauling its way to a 4-0 win over Wolves on opening weekend. Spurs sailed to its dominant win over Burnley, meanwhile, as the Thomas Frank era got underway in confident fashion.

However, the Danish tactician faces a far more difficult task in taking Spurs to a third win over City in their last four encounters. The north Londoners powered to a dazzling 4-0 triumph when they last travelled to the Etihad in November, but Pep Guardiola’s men now look a lot more up for the fight after turning a new leaf.

Spurs are still reeling from the loss of James Maddison after a pre-season ACL injury has ruled him out for at least six months. City is missing its midfield magician in Rodri, while Phil Foden and Josko Gvardiol are among the doubts for Guardiola.
