DREAM BIG

May 6, 2025 – The first obstacle will be dealing with all the people who are NALO (negative attitudes loose opportunities). They fill you with negatives and help you fail. Those people are in abundance. They typically don’t execute much for themselves. Rather than showing you the obstacles you need to solve and some input on how you may overcome them, they are just a negative influence. You want to avoid these people. This article provides some important lessons in life:

  • Overcoming obstacles to success
  • Mental simulation and visualization of your dreams
  • Having a great life partner

Obstacles Sometimes success is simply getting the opportunity. Sports stories are filled with coaches with attitudes who held back elite athletes. Coaches and parents can be obstacles for sure. If you dream big, you will probably have big obstacles and perhaps more of them. Essential recommended reading https://www.goodreads.com/author/list/287960.Randy_Pausch. “The Last Lecture” but he left us with a lot more. Everybody leaves something behind. What will you leave?

Mental Simulation and Visualization https://www.happyneuronpro.com/en/info/exploring-cognitive-skills-imagery You can also ask Gemini, “The Science of dreaming (day dreaming) your execution of the dream” A small part of the article but manager A. J. Hinch https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A._J._Hinch says he imagines how his pitchers will perform before he puts them on the mound. This is an interesting science. So many discoveries were stumbled upon researching for something else. The guy who found auto safety glass did so researching for something else. He spilled a substance/liquid on glass and eureka, How to become a genius.

However, many discoveries come without accident where it is exactly what they were looking for. They all start with an idea, a dream if you will. Mental simulation and visualization might be a good thing to do before you take a road trip. Then you might take the safest way and stay alive.

I became aware of this phoenomna when I moved to Arizona. I went to an ASU vs Oklahoma State football game in Tempe. I wagered on the Cowboys and they won kicking the Devils’ butts. After the game the Cowboys QB said he engaged in Mental simulation and visualization and did so before this game and how it would turn out. It pretty much went the way he day dreamed it. I suppose it can work for wagering/gambling but I would be very careful. Try mental simulation and visualization with hypothetical wagers first.

Having a great partner in life I cannot say enough about this one. Having a great partner is essential. Chase was about to give up his dream of playing in the MLB. He went to work at a fast food restaurant but his wife was having nothing to do with him quitting. The guy was a 4.0 GPA in a math curriculum it would be easy to see why a wife would want him to be an engineer and give up the MLB dream. With a different wife he may not have overcome those obstacles. Yeah! Think about that one for a bit. After you get rid of your parents your own life’s partner may be an obstacle!

Attwell’s are on this link, perhaps we have a great example in our own family. I have to think that Chuck Attwell dreamed big. He engaged in mental simulation and visualization perhaps without even knowing it. He dreamed big of bowling a 300 game and a hole in one in golf. He executed both, something very few people ever do. Dream Big, Dream until your dreams come true or you reach the point you are very sure you will not execute that dream. Get a new dream.

There was a kid in high school dreaming of being a fighter pilot. His parents pointed out he was not performing academically in school. His response was, he could fly those jets as well as anyone. His parents replied, perhaps but they are not going to let you fly them! If you are going to Dream Big you might want to start exectuing early in life. The smorgsborg of deam options dwindles as you grow through life.
