From the teaser video posted on X, the new controller looks almost identical to the original, but it does feature one noticeable change. The touchpad now shows Astro Bot’s smiling eyes at rest, whereas the original had wide-open eyes. Beyond that, the rest of the design appears largely the same, complete with the iconic white-and-blue color scheme.
There are no pricing details yet, but we expect the controller to cost $84.99, like other recent limited edition DualSense controllers themed after popular games. The DualSense Wireless Controller – Astro Bot Joyful Limited Edition (as it’s officially called) will be available for pre-order beginning September 12 at 10 a.m. local time through PlayStation Direct and participating retailers. Given how quickly the first Astro Bot controller sold out, fans may want to act fast once pre-orders go live.
