The capacity will increase from 2.7 million tonnes per annum to 4.7 MTPA. Shares of Godawari Power and Ispat Limited ended at ₹238.65, up by ₹2.65, or 1.12%, on the BSE today, December 3.

Steel and pellet maker Godawari Power and Ispat Ltd (GPIL) on Wednesday (December 3) said it has received the consent to operate for its expanded iron ore pelletisation plant, increasing capacity from 2.7 million tonnes per annum to 4.7 MTPA.

The approval for the additional 2 MTPA pellet plant was granted by the Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board through its letter dated December 3, 2025.

Following the receipt of the consent, the company lighted up the expanded pellet plant on the same day. Commercial production is expected within a week, after which the company will inform the exchanges about the commencement of operations.

Second Quarter Results

The steel and pellet maker’s net profit rose 1.5% to ₹161 crore for the September quarter, compared with ₹159 crore a year earlier. Revenue increased 3.2% to ₹1,307 crore from ₹1,267 crore.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) grew 5.2% to ₹259.3 crore, up from ₹246.5 crore last year, while operating margins improved to 19.8% from 19.5%.

Shares of Godawari Power and Ispat Limited ended at ₹238.65, up by ₹2.65, or 1.12%, on the BSE.
