Setting that aside, the new enclosure supports M.2 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 drives with a tool-free installation process. Moreover, HyperDrive claims that its enclosure supports AI accelerators and networking cards, too. On top of that, the accessory delivers up to 25 W of power with 7.5 W from its host USB Type-C port.
The HyperDrive Next USB4 M.2 PCIe Enclosure is available to order today for $199.99 from Hyper’s website. Currently, Hyper claims to have stock of its new SSD enclosure and is already ready to ship them. The enclosure is not available from third parties like Amazon yet, though.
