The New York Jets’ season has unraveled familiarly, and with every passing week, questions surrounding head coach Aaron Glenn continue to grow. Once viewed as a promising long-term hire, Glenn now finds himself under increasing scrutiny as losses pile up and patience begins to wear thin.

Mounting Pressure on Aaron Glenn as Jets’ Struggles Deepen
NFL analyst Armando Salguero made it clear that Glenn’s position is far from secure, placing him firmly among the coaches whose jobs are “not safe” as the season winds down. While several coaches across the league are fighting to stabilize their standing, Salguero noted that Glenn’s situation appears particularly fragile given how sharply the Jets have declined.
The numbers reinforce that concern. According to PFSN’s Offense Impact metric, the Jets currently sit at 59.5, ranking 29th in the NFL. Their overall offensive grade is an F, a stark reflection of a unit that has failed to generate consistency or momentum. With a 3–13 record, the on-field results align closely with the statistical shortcomings.
For context, the league-wide average offensive impact score stands at 74.7, highlighting just how far the Jets have fallen behind their peers. That gap has become increasingly difficult to justify, especially for a team that entered the season with the hope of establishing a clearer identity under a new head coach.
Despite the mounting criticism, Glenn has publicly expressed confidence in his relationship with ownership. “I do know there’s a belief in me,” he said. “I do know I believe in him. That’s why I’m glad I took this job, is because of ownership and what he’s about. I’m disappointed. I know he’s disappointed. So, now we’ve got to figure out what we do to make sure that we get over that hump and move forward.”

Still, Salguero’s assessment suggests that belief may not be enough. The Jets have been blown out repeatedly, including several losses in which they failed to remain competitive. That pattern has only strengthened the perception that Glenn is not safe, regardless of internal support.
As the season nears its conclusion, the Jets appear to be approaching a crossroads. Whether ownership chooses patience or a reset could define the franchise’s direction for years to come. For now, Glenn remains in place, but the results on the field suggest his margin for survival is rapidly shrinking.
