The wait for the Sony WF-1000XM6 could soon be about to end. Surprisingly, Sony’s new pair of high-end wireless earbuds could be released a few weeks sooner than anticipated too.
Leaker billbil-kun has shared fresh details about the WF-1000XM6 ahead of its long-awaited release. For the time being, the design of Sony’s next high-end wireless earbuds remains unknown. However, pricing and release information have gradually emerged in the last few weeks.
Previously, billbil-kun claimed that Sony had decided to price the WF-1000XM6 at $329.99 in the US and €299.99 in the Eurozone. In other words, while the leaker expects Sony to price match the WF-1000XM6 with its predecessor in Europe, the company will offer the earbuds for 10% more than the WF-1000XM5 in the US (curr. $328 on Amazon). Additionally, they remarked that Sony would observe different announcement and release dates.
Writing on Dealabs, billbil-kun claims that this is no longer accurate. Instead, they now report that the WF-1000XM6 should begin shipping slightly ahead of schedule, with a pre-order period not applicable whatsoever. As a result, the earbuds should begin shipping on February 12, rather than the February 23 date mentioned earlier this week. Currently, Sony is expected to offer the WF-1000XM6 in just black and white colour options, despite selling the WF-1000XM5 in three colours since late 2024.
