“It’s an interesting thing, kind of a catch-22, because you have full autonomy of your time, but you’re also not trying to keep an idle mind,” said Morse, “What you find yourself is pouring totally into your kids for a bit, get a little antsy. Get a little of this kind of itch, so just trying to fill that time, and what do you fill it with? The only thing you know is football. It’s a saturated market full of absolute killers, and the space that I’m trying to enter. So it’s been extremely humbling but incredibly satisfying. It gives me a reason to look forward to something throughout the day, which I think is the most important thing right now.”

Morse retired after the 2024 season and, after 10 years of playing, wanted to share his insights on the game.

“I found that I had a screaming ego that I thought might not have existed until the limelight had dimmed. That being said, I also enjoy conversations with folks. I enjoy digesting information, especially football. ” It’s been incredibly satisfying and something we’re going to grow into,” said Morse. “This was something I really wanted to do, and when you dip your toe in, I wondered if it was for me.” I found that if I was going to do this, I had to dive in fully. Give it a few years, with all your energy, everything you can muster, and then, if it doesn’t work out, at least I can sit down, take a nap, and rest easy, because it wasn’t for me. As of now, I’m just lit up by it. It really is fantastic.”

Morse has featured several former teammates on the podcast, including Kansas City Chiefs center Creed Humphrey and retired quarterback Alex Smith.

“So the thing is, you have to dial down the locker-room kind of talk while still being able to divulge information. I think that was the thing we found early on: that we can make it disgusting, because that’s what most locker rooms are,” said Morse. “I have kids, I have a wife, and I have a career in this business, hopefully in the foreseeable future.” I don’t want that derailed by just having a good time with the buddies. That said, candidness and authenticity reign supreme, so you have to marry both and find ways to walk that fine line. It’s something you learn, but when you walk it, it’s beautiful to see your guests enjoying it. They’re letting their guard down, still showing their personality, while not ruining careers. So that’s been a really fun part of this.”
