With Bihar gearing up for its upcoming assembly elections, political activity in the state has gained momentum. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch his campaign next week, while the Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM has announced its first list of 25 candidates after being sidelined by the INDIA bloc.
PM Modi’s Bihar Poll Campaign Next Week
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch his campaign next week, addressing multiple rallies across key districts, the PTI reported, citing state BJP president Dilip Jaiswal.
Modi will begin his campaign on October 24 with a rally in Samastipur, where he will pay tribute to former Chief Minister and Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur at his birthplace, Karpoori Gram. The same day, he will address another rally in Begusarai.
“PM Modi, among the world’s tallest leaders, will connect directly with the people of Bihar as we gear up for the polls,” Jaiswal said.
PM Modi’s Subsequent Rallies in Bihar
The Prime Minister is scheduled to return to Bihar on October 30 for rallies in Muzaffarpur and Chhapra, the district headquarters of Saran. Additional rallies are planned for November 2, 3, 6 and 7, with details to be shared later.
The Bihar assembly elections will be held in two phases — 121 seats will go to polls on November 6, while the remaining 122 constituencies will vote on November 11.

AIMIM Announces List of 25 Candidates
In a parallel development, the Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM unveiled 25 candidates for the Bihar polls, including two non-Muslims, after being ignored by the INDIA bloc.
The list includes Akhtarul Iman, the party’s Bihar chief and lone MLA, who will recontest from Amour, the PTI reported. Other notable candidates include Manoj Kumar Das from Sikandra (Gaya) and Rana Ranjeet Singh from Dhaka, East Champaran.
Most of AIMIM’s candidates are contesting from the Seemanchal region, a flood-prone area in north-eastern Bihar with a significant Muslim population.
Sharing the list on X (formerly Twitter), AIMIM stated, “We will be a voice of justice for Bihar’s weakest and most neglected.”
AIMIM’s Political Background in Bihar
In the 2020 Bihar assembly elections, AIMIM contested 19 seats, winning five. However, four of its MLAs later joined the RJD. Despite outreach to Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav seeking inclusion in the INDIA bloc, the party received no response, prompting it to contest independently this year.
