With so many online furniture brands out there, figuring out what’s actually worth your money can feel like a gamble. Will it look great in person or flop the second you get it assembled? When the Taste of Home team learned that Cozey actually lives up to the rave reviews, we went all in.

From a Cozey sectional sofa to a dining table set and a washable rug, our product testers and shopping editors put some of the brand’s core offerings to the test. Spoiler alert: we’re fans.

Here’s what our team loves about Cozey and what you should know when you buy.

What is Cozey?

Founded in Canada in 2020, Cozey is a direct-to-consumer furniture brand designed for everyday life. The brand is best-known for its modern, easy-to-assemble pieces, complete with performance fabrics, customizable configurations and—most importantly, in my book—washable covers.

Furniture ships in a series of boxes, making Cozey a go-to for apartment dwellers and anyone who hates hauling bulky furniture inside. While sofas are the star of the show, the brand also offers dining furniture, lounge chairs and rugs, with bedding products coming soon.

How We Tested

Our shopping editors first discovered Cozey in 2023 while testing the best sectional sofas across brands—and it immediately stood out. After months of living with the Ciello sectional, we were impressed by how simple it was to assemble, the flexible configuration options, the removable, machine-washable cushion covers and, of course, the comfortable feel.

Last year, Shopping Editor Emily Way put more Cozey pieces to the test, including a dining table and a washable rug, to see if the rest of the lineup lived up to the sofa. Read on to see what she thought of each product—and why we’re currently kind of obsessed with Cozey.

Product tester Caitlyn Fitzpatrick tried the Cozey Ciello sectional when upgrading from an old brown loveseat to something brighter and more spacious. With help from just one other person, she assembled the sectional easily thanks to its box-by-box delivery.

The Ciello comes in a wide range of sizes, colors and configurations, with a fully modular design that can be rearranged to fit your space. You can also add a chaise or storage ottoman.

“I went with a four-seater in the Sunset Beige color,” Caitlyn says. Even with a one-year-old around during testing, spills blotted up easily, and while she didn’t need to wash it, the removable covers are machine-washable.

“Overall, I find this sectional very comfortable and appreciate the wide cushions that make it easier to host when family stops by,” Caitlyn adds. “My only gripe is that although I love the modular design, the back and side cushions aren’t attached to the sofa, so they can fall or need readjusting.”

Shopping Editor Emily Way found the Vela dining set refreshingly easy to assemble. “I’ve built a lot of flatpack furniture, and this was some of the simplest I’ve set up,” she says. The table came together by latching the two sides and attaching the legs, while the chairs required only minimal setup, with the bottom legs attaching to the backs.

The chair cushions attach with sturdy velcro and can be swapped out for different colors. Emily says the cushions stay firmly in place—something she especially appreciates as a cat owner.

Emily also noted the set’s durability. Made from solid oak, it’s heavy and built to last. “I can absolutely see this lasting for years and years. I especially love that there’s no particle board involved,” she says. While the chairs are a bit weighty to pull out, Emily prefers their solid feel over anything flimsy.

Looks-wise, the set delivers. “I’ve gone through several dining sets in the last few years, and this one is definitely the best looking,” Emily says. With mid-century-meets-Scandinavian style and interchangeable seat cushions, it’s an easy fit for a wide range of spaces.

When she first opened the Cozey rug, Emily was a bit overwhelmed. “I don’t think I really considered how large an 8×10 rug actually is—it fills up almost my whole dining room,” she says. “But after setting it up, it fills out the space super well and really brings the room together. It also looks great with the Vela dining set.”

The print is clear and colorful, and at $350, it’s a terrific value for its size.

“I’ve purchased other rugs from similar retailers, and in my opinion, Cozey’s setup should be the gold standard. Instead of a huge rug pad, the nonslip pad arrives in numbered puzzle-like pieces that you interlock.”

While the interlocking pieces take a little time to assemble, they keep the rug stable and manageable. “You can’t feel them under the rug since it’s nice and thick, and they also make the rug pleasant to walk on,” Emily says.

Another smart feature is the corner pockets that tuck under the rug pad. Emily notes that with two rambunctious cats, this really helps the rug stay in place.

She hasn’t tried washing it at home due to its size, but the rug has performed well so far. “I will say that despite it sitting right under our dining table, it hasn’t collected any stains, and any dirt or debris that collects on it easily vacuums up,” Emily says.

Final Verdict

So far, our editors and product testers have been seriously impressed with Cozey products. Each piece we’ve tested—from sectionals to dining sets to rugs—has been put through our usual rigorous testing standards, and they’ve held up. The brand delivers on both style and practicality: modern designs, clever modular configurations, washable covers and materials that feel built to last.

Beyond that, Cozey offers strong value for the price and a growing range of options that can fit almost any living situation, from apartments to larger homes. Our team has been especially impressed by the thoughtful details—looking at you, sturdy velcro cushions!

All in all, Cozey has earned our stamp of approval. While we’ll continue testing more products as the brand expands, the pieces we’ve lived with so far make it clear that Cozey offers budget-friendly, easy-to-assemble furniture that doesn’t sacrifice comfort or style.
