In the United States, there are between 350 and 430 languages spoken or signed today.* Only one of them is English. Nationalism can be a tough nut. I believe the French in Quebec passed a law you could only speak French in public. No tower of babble here just hope they all speak French.
I have never listened to rap. I understand some of it is great poetry. It is not about the genre; it is about my age. Growing up we would buy an album, take it home, and listen to it about seven times the first day. Then of course the lyrics were in the album and we would learn those. I do not have the time to learn the lyrics for rap, hip hop, or even country-inflected rock at my age. However, I don’t hate those genres, the people involved or certainly the people that play that music.
The group which is going to watch Kid Rock is doing exactly that. They are either the noise (not Kid Rock although some might think that) or executing listening to the noise. I don’t usually watch the Super Bowl as it is just too time consuming for one game. I record it and watch it later. This year Mrs. Kirk has motivated me to at leastwatch the halftime show. Bad Bunny seems to be a global phenomenon. He was also a phenomenon across the United States. I think Dean Martin had a hit without a single word of English. I don’t think it is about Italian or Spanish more like petty nationalism. I worry and pray for Bad Bunny’s safety in a country like a lot of out of controlled teenagers. .
The funny thing about religious fundamentalists is they have a difficult time functioning in the secular world. This is because all too often they are not told what they want to hear which can often challenge their faith. What they do is return to the flock and get reinforced. In this case the flock happens to be Kid Rock. You know the low IQ guy who shot a six pack of Bud Light (I think) as he did not know how to look away or turn the TV off. Really, you get that incensed about who gets to do TV commercials? Notice, he did not blow up a 6 pack of a 9% craft beer. Who the heck drinks Bud Light anymore? Perhaps the Kid is a light weight. Perhaps a Kirk guy. Raised in enough wealth with all the opportunities but still passed up a post high school education. It shows, with both of them.
They really reached the bottom of the barrel for Kid Rock. Jim Morrison sold more records than Kid Rock and he only lived for three albums. 75 million behind so I doubt he will ever catch up. Are they playing Kid Rock songs in commercials yet? Kid Rock, he’s really not that important. Neither are the Kirk’s.
It is not about music. It is about money and funding radical PACs to influence and even take over our government.
Are they “funding her PAC”?
There is no public evidence that Kid Rock’s appearance fee is being diverted to a personal PAC for Erika Kirk. Instead, the flow of money usually works the other way: Turning Point USA (the organization) pays the artists (Kid Rock, Lee Brice, Brantley Gilbert, etc.) to perform.
The goal for the organization isn’t a direct “payout” to Erika, but rather:
- Data Collection: Getting viewers to sign up for their email lists.
- Fundraising: Using the massive audience to solicit donations for TPUSA’s operations.
- Branding: Solidifying Erika Kirk’s position as a leader in the movement following her husband’s death.
I will not be participating in this nor should you. Any idea that these people will bring us a better world is benign. More religion in government means more conflict. Check history including our founders. So, why should you help finance her Scottsdale lifestyle.
Kid Rock never made it in rap rock. In the 1990s and late 2000s, Kid Rock transitioned from rap-rock to country-inflected rock. I’m not sure which genre he used the confederate flag in but the country side seems reasonable. I don’t think he understands we should not try to apartheid civil rights. I am not sure why he thinks he should get to decide who gets to does commercials on TV.
Seems that change brought serious interruption to the Kid.
