2026 World Cup Odds: USA, Morocco Surge After Openers

The biggest sporting event North America has ever hosted is in full swing, and two of the co-hosts, Mexico and the United States, are off to a dream start.

The U.S. men’s national team followed up Mexico’s opening match victory in the 2026 FIFA World Cup with one of its own on Friday, beating Paraguay 4-1. Mexico kicked off the tournament with a decisive 2-0 victory over South Africa on Thursday.

Both of their title odds shortened after the wins.

Five-time champion Brazil opened its World Cup campaign with a 1-1 draw against Morocco on Saturday. With this result, Brazil’s odds to lift the trophy slightly dropped from +900 to +950.

The Host Nations: Could the USA and Mexico have gotten off to better starts? The U.S. took a 3-0 lead over Paraguay in the first half before cruising to a 4-1 win, while Mexico opened up the tournament with a 2-0 win over South Africa. Leading the way for the United States was Falorin Balogun, who scored twice. However, Mauricio Pochettino took USA star Christian Pulisic out at halftime due to calf tightness.
