Tom Pelissero of NFL Network first reported the news, noting the Chiefs’ medical staff “worked quickly” to get Thompson into medical care.
Thompson, 25, was a fifth-round pick out of Stephen F. Austin in 2023. He recorded two tackles in one appearance as a rookie.
The Chiefs did not offer many details into what led to Thompson’s seizure and canceled all team activities for the remainder of the day. The team also moved a scheduled media session back to Friday.
Thursday was slated to be the final day of this week’s OTA session. The team will reconvene next week for another round of minicamp workouts.
Thompson is expected to compete for playing time on the Chiefs’ deep defensive line this season.
