Watch: Brandin Cooks scores TD in first game back from knee injury

The Dallas Cowboys always seem to get an extra boost on Thanksgiving Day.

On Thursday, the team’s offense got its boost with the return of wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who had been absent with a knee injury since Week 4.

The 11-year veteran made a triumphant statement against the New York Giants with a touchdown catch to help extend Dallas’ lead to 20-10 in the third quarter.

The score was the beginning of Dallas putting the hammer down on New York after its defense got a second critical takeaway to start the second half.

DeMarvion Overshown forced his second turnover of the game with a fumble recovery against Giants quarterback Drew Lock.

Dallas has won seven straight against division rival New York and 14 of the last 15 meetings.

On Thursday, it looked well on its way to winning its eighth consecutive and extending the frustration and misery of Giants fans this year.

New York (2-9) started the game playing better than it had most of the year, scoring its first touchdown on the initial drive of a game since Week 2.

But things went downhill from there, and the team looks destined for a top draft pick for the second consecutive season.
