Syrian Dictator Bashar al-Assad has fled his country as rebels marched into the capital city Damascus late Saturday.

The brutal leader’s nearly quarter century rule came to a stunning end as thousands filled Damascus’ main square to celebrate.

The rebels have declared Damascus “free” from Assad in a message on Telegram.
