Ms. Faiman’s journey into the world of design was preceded by a successful career in finance. She began her professional path at Goldman Sachs International in 1997, where she rose to the position of Vice President in the Fixed Income Division. During her time at the firm, she developed deep expertise in financial analysis, markets, and strategic planning. In 2004, she founded Propatria Ltd, a private wealth advisory business, where she further strengthened her entrepreneurial and client relationship skills until 2008. Ms. Faiman’s passion for design has been a lifelong journey, deeply influenced by her artistic upbringing. Raised by a mother who was an artist and a father who was an architect, she was exposed to creativity from a young age. Her extensive travels and experiences of living in four different countries further shaped her appreciation for diverse cultural aesthetics. After achieving success in finance, she found her true creative outlet in hosting and entertaining. The dining table became her canvas, where she could showcase her passion for beautiful design. This natural progression from a career in finance to a creative pursuit led to the founding of Von Gern Home, a brand that embodies her love for both artful design and the joy of bringing people together through stylish table décor.
Ms. Faiman’s academic background provided a strong foundation for her multifaceted career. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Ripon College (1995) and a master’s degree in the history of decorative arts and design from Parsons The New School for Design (2016). This unique combination of analytical and artistic education equips her with both strategic insight and a nuanced understanding of design history – perspectives she skillfully brings to life through her work at Von Gern Home.
