FAYETTE COUNTY, GA — Fayette County Government is pleased to announce that Jason Tinsley has accepted the position of Assistant County Manager. Tinsley brings over 20 years of experience in local government management across Georgia and Florida.
Since 2018, Tinsley has served as the County Manager for Upson County, Georgia, where he provided strategic leadership and oversaw countywide operations and services. His extensive career includes key leadership roles such as Senior Management and Budget Analyst for Leon County, Florida; Assistant County Manager and Finance Director for Habersham County, Georgia; County Administrator for Wayne County, Georgia; City Manager for the City of Jefferson, Georgia; and County Manager for Marion County, Georgia.
Throughout his career, Tinsley has developed a strong reputation for excellence in public service delivery, fiscal management, policy development, economic growth, and stakeholder engagement.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Tinsley has actively contributed to advancing public administration through service on numerous professional boards. He is a past President of the County Managers/Administrators section of the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG), and he holds leadership roles with the National Association of Counties (NACo), the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), and the Georgia City/County Management Association (GCCMA).
Tinsley and his wife, Kaylyn, reside in Thomaston, Georgia, with their four children. He will officially begin his role with Fayette County in July, following the conclusion of his current responsibilities with Upson County.
