Nearly 15,000 fans filled Centre Court on Friday to watch the Italian take on seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic. Among them was British tennis star Emma Raducanu, a standout presence during the semifinal.

It was indeed a tough outing for Djokovic, whose hopes for a 25th Grand Slam title were dashed by Sinner on Friday. Doubts on the Serb’s fitness were already swirling ahead of the match, as he had a nasty fall during his quarterfinal win over Flavio Cobolli. In the semifinal, his movement appeared well below its trademark best.
Capitalizing on the 24-time Grand Slam champion’s struggles, Sinner sealed the match, 6-3, 6-3, 6-4, in just an hour and 55 minutes to book his place in his fourth straight Grand Slam final since the US Open last year. Moreover, it will also be his first summit clash appearance at Wimbledon.

Former US Open champion Raducanu joined the Centre Court spectators to witness Sinner’s dominant triumph over Djokovic. Moreover, former tennis player and commentator Mark Petchey, who is serving as the Brit’s coach in an informal capacity, sat with her during the match.

It is worth noting that Raducanu has closely followed Sinner’s game at Wimbledon. The 22-year-old and her coach, Petchey, also attended one of his warm-up sessions earlier at the Aorangi Park.
Jannik Sinner Had a Sincere Exchange With Novak Djokovic Following the Wimbledon Semifinal
During his post-match press conference, Djokovic revealed that Sinner had apologized to him after the match. However, he insisted the Italian had no reason to apologize, saying he simply played his game and calling him the best player in the world right now.
“He [Sinner] apologized for me feeling bad today,” Djokovic told reporters. “There’s nothing to apologize for from his side. Obviously, he’s done very well for himself today, and for the last year and a half, he’s been the best player in the world,” he said.

It is worth noting that Djokovic had led 3-0 in the third set; however, the Italian rallied to win five straight games and eventually stood triumphant. The Italian extended his head-to-head lead to 6-4 against Djokovic and now awaits the two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in the final.
