Britney Spears admitted her marriage to Sam Asghari was a “fake distraction” after she was “cut off” from her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.
The pop star got candid about being estranged from her kids for three years in a lengthy Instagram post Sunday.
“We’re just people so fragile and human the hardest years of my life were my two sons gone for those 3 years,” she captioned the post, which featured a photo of her not wearing any clothing as her back was turned to the camera.
“I was cut off from calling or texting and I remember in shock my secret to survival was denial and a lot of tears its weird me and Sam were married but it almost felt like a fake distraction to help me deal with it,” Spears added.
The “Gimme More” singer, 43, then spoke about how she knows she’s on the road to healing.
“I know im healing bc im hungry again like a child or baby… im so hungry it hurts and when I eat its like its my first time ever eating in my life,” she wrote.

“I believe although I loved my home there is waaay too much abuse and trauma in there…. Today I thank jesus for food it feel like telling others NO… Owning my body… and letting them REALLY know where im from,” Spears added.
“My soul has never experienced food like this a day in my life… so silly and embarrassing im going to eat cookies and cream ice cream now…god bless u all.”
Page Six has reached out to Asghari for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Spears and Asghari, 31, met in 2016 on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video.
The Grammy winner and the former trainer tied the knot in a lavish, star-studded ceremony in June 2022.
In August 2023, Asghari filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. The exes finalized their divorce in May 2024.
Earlier this year, the “Special Ops: Lioness” alum confirmed he signed an NDA during his seven-year relationship with Spears.
Meanwhile, last year, the “Toxic” singer reunited with her 18-year-old son, Jayden, after years of estrangement.
“They have been spending a lot of time together,” one insider told us last November.
A second source shared that the teen had been “back in California,” where Spears lives, after moving to Hawaii with his brother, Sean, 19, and their father, Kevin Federline, in 2023.
“Britney is thrilled to have her baby back,” the second source told us. “Everything is moving in the right direction.”
Spears and Federline, 47, were married from 2004 to 2007.
