A wild Galaxy S26 Plus has surfaced over a week before its release. Sporting Samsung’s rumoured redesign, the device was allegedly being sold for a whopping $1,650 ahead of its official debut.
Samsung is still over a week away from its next Galaxy Unpacked event. So far, the company has only teased that it has new smartphones and wearables waiting in the wings. However, recent leaks have identified that Samsung has prepared not just three Galaxy S26 smartphones but also two Galaxy Buds 4 series earbuds.
Samsung will not be officially launching the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus or Galaxy S26 Ultra until February 25. Nonetheless, someone has already been spotted selling one unit online. Allegedly, the device was advertised as the Galaxy S26 Ultra on Craigslist. While the photos reposted to X seem legitimate, we have been unable to verify suggestions that the device was being sold for $1,650. As far as we can tell, the device is neither a Galaxy S26 Ultra nor a retail unit.
Instead, it looks like someone was attempting to sell a Galaxy S26 Plus test unit. Still, recent leaks indicate that the colour shown will be available in retail units as ‘Black’. By the looks of things, this finish has a greyer hue than the Blueback version of the Galaxy S25 Plus and is much closer to the Galaxy S25 Edge in this regard (curr. $527 – refurbished on Amazon). Please see our earlier article for a detailed look at the Galaxy S26 Plus’ other launch colours.
