Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …
An early look at what positions are strong in the 2027 NFL Draft – PhillyVoice
One of those above players, Texas Tech’s Brendan Sorsby, has checked into a treatment program for a gambling addition, and his 2026 college football season is in doubt. There’s a chance that he could apply for the NFL’s Supplemental Draft. There is also a chance that if he is approved for the Supplemental Draft and gets selected that he could be suspended by the NFL thereafter. Informative primer here. Anyway, he’s a talented player. He’s big (listed at 6’3, 235), he has a good arm, and he can run a little bit. His 2025 highlights (when he went to Cincinnati). The Eagles don’t have room on their roster for another quarterback. They already have four. BUT… if they were confident that Sorsby will be suspended by the NFL, especially if it’s for the entire 2026 season, it would absolutely make sense for Howie Roseman to at least put in a Day 3 bid for this guy, since Tanner McKee and Andy Dalton are scheduled to be free agents next offseason. They did take a shot on another gambling case when they signed Isaiah Rodgers, and that worked out.
Opponent writers predict the Eagles’ 2026 record – BGN
How many games will the Philadelphia Eagles win this season? With the 2026 NFL schedule now known, I made my final record prediction and we asked you for yours. Now it’s time for a different perspective on the same activity. We tracked down writers who cover the teams of Philly’s 2026 opponents to see their week-by-week picks and how they had the Eagles games playing out.
Replacing Lane – Iggles Blitz
The Eagles spent pick 68 on Markel Bell. You don’t spend that pick on a guy you think will be Fred Johnson. Jordan Mailata is only 29 so you’re not worried about replacing him. The Eagles think Bell can be their RT of the future. The draft is all about probability. Guys in the first round have the best chance of success because they were the best prospects. Even with that, there are no sure things (see Andre Dillard). The odds go down each round, as the level of prospects do. But the league is filled with players from all over the draft who did succeed. Brian Dawkins was the 61st pick in 1996. He went to the Hall of Fame. Bell was pick 68. The Eagles don’t need him to be a HOF. They just want to find a good RT of the future. I get the fact there are doubters on Bell. I think part of the issue is they are focused on what he is and not what he might become. He played LT at Miami. Well, Johnson played LT at Oklahoma. He didn’t learn RT until he got to the NFL. Bell cross-trained at RT some during his college years and then in his pre-draft training. We just haven’t seen him play there on a regular basis. Bell is only 21. He has a ton of upside. It is up to Bell and the coaching staff to mold him into a starting NFL OT.
Bloodline Belief: Eagles Need Drew Kendall To Step Up In Year 2 – SI
The issues were so significant each player decided to try stem cell treatment in Medellin, Columbia over the offseason. That uncertainty, along with the loss of veteran do-it-all interior reserve Brett Toth in free agency, thrusts 2025 fifth-round pick Drew Kendall into a role as a vital insurance policy. Multiple team sources have spoken highly of Kendall as a potential versatile, pedigreed depth piece who could prove far more valuable than most realize.
2026 NFL schedule: Cowboys, Seahawks among 5 teams facing toughest slates – NFL.com
5) Dallas Cowboys. The heat gets turned up on Dallas in Week 3, when the team travels to Brazil for a date with Lamar Jackson, a two-time MVP looking to make a bounce-back statement on a big stage. The Cowboys then have three of their next four games on the road against teams that made the playoffs last season, including back-to-back prime-time battles in Green Bay and Philadelphia. A Thanksgiving date with the Eagles and a trip to face the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks will be a rough way to begin the holiday season, and a visit to the Rams coming out of a long-awaited Week 14 bye won’t be a treat, either.
10 bold predictions for the Dallas Cowboys in 2026 – Blogging The Boys
2) NFC East Champions. We predict the Cowboys finish with a 4-2 record in the NFC East division, splitting games with the Eagles and Commanders and sweeping the Giants. As NFC East Champions, they would be in position for a potentially strong playoff run. 3) Super Bowl Contender. After already predicting the Cowboys finish with a 11-6 regular-season record and winning the NFC East division, predicting them to be a serious Super Bowl contender is only fitting. With one of the league’s best offenses and an expected defensive improvement, this team could be dangerous in the playoffs.
Washington Commanders schedule: Power ranking 2026 season road trips – Hogs Haven
Indianapolis in London (Tottenham Hotspur Stadium), Oct. 4, 9:30 a.m. ET. This trip is obviously not cheap. You’re flying across the Atlantic and staying in a super expensive city, but it’s nothing like seeing NFL football in the U.S. London’s a great town. A-plus. Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is modern and amazing in most every way. You can take public transit the whole time if you want and experience England while watching your favorite team play. These teams play abroad a ton, and it’s worth watching the Commanders play overseas if you can. Count this as a great opportunity to do so.
NY Giants fans think the team will win at least as many games at the last 2 years combined – Big Blue View
In our post-schedule release poll asking how many games fans expected the team to win during the 2026-27 season, 63% of our voters said the Giants will win between seven and nine games.
Aaron Rodgers makes his decision – SB Nation
It is official. Aaron Rodgers is returning to the Pittsburgh Steelers for another season. After months of speculation, Rodgers has agreed with Pittsburgh to terms on a new one-year deal to return to the Steelers for the 2026 season, where he will be reunited with Mike McCarthy.
NFL says it’s following fan interest with midweek games – ESPN
This season’s Wednesday night opening game might seem like a bold foray for the NFL, playing on a day not traditionally associated with pro football. But fans might need to get used to it. Increased ratings and the league’s focus on holiday seasons might well lead to more games on nontraditional days in the future, NFL officials said Friday.

What exactly does Nick Sirianni do?
Getting into with some folks in this community and curious what the general consensus is.. if you had the opportunity to swap Nick Sirianni for Sean McVay 1:1 right now, would you do it? To me the answer is yes and it’s a no brainer. Sean McVay is one of the best offensive minds in the sport and pairing him with Vic Fangio and our roster would be deadly for the rest of the league. People are arguing that Sirianni is more accomplished (which technically he isn’t) and has a better winning %, but that’s a narrow minded way to look at it imo.
Over the last 4-5 years, Howie has made the Eagles HC job the easiest job in the NFL (maybe NFL history). Nailing pretty much every day 1-2 pick in the draft, hand selecting Vic Fangio and Kellen Moore, trading for AJ Brown, manipulating the cap so that we can afford to be ultra aggressive in keeping talent and bringing in new talent via FA. No GM/owner combo can even sniff what we are doing.
And that leads me to my original question.. what exactly does Nick Sirianni provide in value? Did the team look tough, detailed, and together in 23 and 25 when we didn’t have all star coordinators that Howie picked? Did Nick have any answers the many times the offense has sputtered during the season? Has he done anything to develop Jalen Hurts to the next level? Has he prevented locker room drama from spilling out into the media? What does he do? How is he a better head coach than Sean McVay?
