HLTV launches IEM Cologne Major hub in mobile app

HLTV, the go-to platform for Counter-Strike esports coverage, has rolled out a dedicated IEM Cologne Major 2026 hub directly inside its mobile app. The integration gives fans on-the-go access to match schedules, venue logistics, and event check-ins for one of the biggest tournaments on the competitive CS calendar.

The IEM Cologne Major 2026 runs from June 11 through June 21, with preliminary stages having already taken place between June 2 and June 9. The prize pool sits at $1.25M, making it one of the marquee paydays in Counter-Strike esports this year.

What the app hub actually does

The hub surfaces match schedules in real time, which matters when a tournament spans nearly two weeks and features multiple stages. Venue details are baked in as well, a practical touch for the thousands of attendees physically present in Cologne, Germany.

Check-in functionality rounds out the feature set. For fans at the arena, this turns the app into something closer to a companion tool than a passive news feed.

This isn’t HLTV’s first app upgrade cycle in recent months, either. Back in March 2026, the platform pushed an update for both iOS and Android that introduced live match statistics and player comparison tools. The Cologne Major hub builds on that foundation, layering event-specific functionality on top of the broader stat and ranking infrastructure.

The IEM Cologne Major in context

This year’s edition follows the familiar Major format. Preliminary stages ran in early June to whittle down the field, with the main event kicking off on June 11. Playoffs are slated to begin on June 18, building toward a final on June 21. That three-day playoff window is where viewership typically spikes and where the $1.25M prize pool becomes the central storyline.

ESL’s collaboration with HLTV on the mobile hub makes strategic sense for both parties. ESL gets a distribution channel embedded in the app that the most engaged Counter-Strike fans already use daily. HLTV gets to position itself not just as a stats and news site, but as an essential event companion.

One notable absence from this entire rollout: there’s no crypto integration, no fan tokens, no NFT ticket stubs. HLTV and ESL appear to be keeping the focus squarely on the core product.
